Shop Policies

  • Under no circumstance do we service guitars that are brought to us without some kind of protection. The box it shipped in is fine, but we do recommend a gig bag or hard case.  

  • We operate strictly by appointment only. Our appointment hours are Tuesday-Friday from 10am - 5pm and Saturday from 12pm - 4pm, contingent on our availability. Please go to our appointment page to set up a time that works for you.

  • If you need to reschedule an appointment booked online, please give us 6 hours of notice prior to cancellation. If you do not give prior notification that you cannot make your appointment, a $15 cancellation fee will be added to your repair bill. 

  • Street parking only! 

  • When you arrive for a drop off or consultation, we will provide you with an estimate. There is no charge for this service. While evaluating your guitar, we will assess everything that we think the guitar needs to perform at it’s highest potential. We will not always catch everything, and you will be contacted if we think that your guitar could benefit from additional work. We try our best to avoid this, but as an ancient maxim most eloquently states: S#!t happens. We will not proceed with any work you do not agree to. 

  • All setup work is guaranteed for 30 days after pickup. We understand that sometimes wood has a mind of it’s own. We like to get to know our player’s preferences, so if you need any adjustments, we are happy to oblige at no additional charge to you. 

  • We require that all work is picked up within 7 business days of completion notification. After 7 business days, a $5 per day storage fee will be applied to your bill. After 14 days, this increases to $10

  • If your instrument is not picked up within 90 days of completion notice, it will be considered abandoned and sold to cover the cost of repair. 

  • We do not tolerate any political speech, hate speech, etc. in our shop. Everyone has their opinions, but if it isn’t about gear, we don’t want to hear it.

  • Unfortunately, we can’t take on any refinish work. Give us a call and we would be happy to point you in the direction of someone who can help!

  • We don’t! While we love a good amp around here, none of us have dove too deep into that world. Again, give us a call and we are happy to point you in the right direction.

  • We don’t take in the following: Orchestral family, Banjos, keyboards, hurdy gurdy, pedals, and amps. 

  • Unfortunately, it probably does. Fretwork is often overlooked on mass manufactured guitars, even high-end guitars. That said, consultations are always free. We will evaluate your instrument when you drop it off and give you our full and complete recommendation for any work you need!

  • We are strictly by appointment only. Please feel free to visit our booking calendar HERE. If you need a time that isn’t listed, just hit us up and we will work with you to get your guitar in.

  • We give approximate turnaround times when you drop your guitar off. Generally a week or two for the basics, but the nature of this job has a tendency to be unpredictable, so any quoted time is just an estimate. If you need something rushed, we take those on a case by case basis for an additional fee. Please plan accordingly.

  • Yes! All setup work is warrantied for 30 days after pickup, and structural work is warrantied for 1 year.

  • We take minor touch up work on a case-by-case basis; however, sometimes it’s best just to let the guitar have a story.

  • While not required, we would love it if you did! We stock D’addario strings in most common sizes, and usually go through two sets per job. If you’re dropping off for a repair and want to provide your own strings, please supply us with a minimum of two sets - we’re definitely going to roach the first set making you that new nut you asked for or replacing your tuneomatic bridge.

  • The PLEK machine is a specialized CNC machine that helps us with all things guitar neck related. This includes precision fretwork and nut making or refining. An instrument goes in and the machine scans around 1000 points of data on the neck to evaluate the condition of the frets, fingerboard and nut. This is a simplification of the entire process which we could talk to you about ad nauseum. The PLEK is NOT AI and it’s not something that we put a guitar in and it spits out fretwork. There are a lot of problems we have to solve that are individual to every specific guitar and it requires a ton of know-how and training to be a proficient operator. That’s why, in some cases we will still recommend fret work on a factory guitar that has been PLEK’d at the factory (you know who we’re talking about). At the end of the day, the machine is only as good as the operator and we have the experience with manual fretwork to give your guitar the best possible results with the assistance of the PLEK machine.
